Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres north-east of Little Aston Mill, is likely from the mid-18th century and was extended to the right with its eaves raised in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof. The south-west wall features a cart entrance with a segmental arch and an inserted surround made of blue bricks. To the right of the entrance, there are breathers arranged in three rows, while to the left, there are two rows of breathers, with the upper courses of brickwork in a different colour. On the left side of the facade, there are two doorways and a window with a segmental head to their right. Beneath the eaves, there is a square pitching door. Inside, the right-hand section has a truss on each side of the cart entrance; the right truss includes a tie-beam and raking struts, while the left truss has struts between a tie-beam and a collar. The roof over the left-hand section was not accessible during the survey, but what appeared to be the foot of a curved principal was visible through the pitching door.
