Description

Ridware Hall is a late 18th-century house with an attached coach house and stables. The main house is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a hipped slate roof and brick ridge stacks. It is aligned east-west, facing west, and has a three-window west front featuring sash windows with glazing bars and gauged brick heads. An early 20th-century stair window has been added to the centre of the first floor. A central flat-roofed Tuscan porch with glazed doors provides access to the house. A two-story, two-bay service wing from the mid-19th century is attached to the left side, with segmental-headed casements on the ground floor and six-pane sashes above.

Set back to the left and connected to the main house by a short brick wall stands the coach house and stable block, oriented north-south and facing west. It is two stories tall, with five bays and glazing bar casements with segmental heads. A segmental archway provides access to the coach house, while boarded doors on either side of the centre lead to the stables and tack room.

The interior of the house includes an elaborate 18th-century overmantel with Corinthian columns and a staircase with a wreathed handrail. Original stable and loose box fittings remain.
