Description

This is an early 18th-century former corn mill with a house attached to the left-hand side. Later and modern alterations have been made to the mill building. The house, which is set back from the road, is constructed of brick and stands three stories high, with three bays. It has a hipped tiled roof, renewed sash windows with flat brick arches and keyblocks, a wide moulded stucco doorcase containing a radial fanlight, and a 19th-century porch. The mill building is also of brick and has three stories and a tiled roof, with plain casement windows. The interior of the mill has been altered but retains an original 20-foot diameter wooden water wheel and part of the drive shaft. The rear of the building includes the remains of a 17th-century timber-framed cottage, with some original timbers visible.
