Description
The Dog and Partridge Hotel, originally a coaching inn, likely dates from the late 15th century to early 16th century, with 18th century flanking wings. It features a timber-framed structure with closely set vertical members and brick infilling on a stone base, along with red brick wings and additions. The building has tiled roofs and consists of three storeys plus an attic, with an oversail at the first storey and three bays that include leaded casement windows. The wings have a mix of casement and sash windows, and the brickwork is painted except for the northeast gable end of the main block. There is a bay window at the ground storey and two modern gabled dormers. The north-west side has modern additions and a doorway. The interior has been significantly altered but still retains some exposed ceiling beams.
