Description

This is a late 18th-century town house, located on the north west side of High Street, Tutbury. The building is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof and brick stacks at each end. It is arranged over three and two storeys, with five sash windows featuring single glazing bars on the front of number 6, and a more recent sash window at the first storey of number 6A. A prominent Venetian-style doorway is a feature of number 6, incorporating a cornice supported by consoles, a radial fanlight, and a six-fielded-panelled door. The façade is distinguished by a stone plinth, a sill band at the first storey, and a moulded eaves cornice. Number 6A is a later addition to number 6, and is slightly recessed, featuring a carriage entrance to the left of modern shop fronts.
