Description

The Shrewsbury Arms Hotel includes a coach-house block that dates from around 1810, although parts of it may be from the early 18th century. The building is finished in stucco and has two storeys. It features two three-light sash windows and a central one-light window. The entrance is prominently advanced and heavily rusticated, and it used to have cast-iron brattishing above it. There is an early 19th-century inn sign and a later three-light angular bay window on the right side. The building has a moulded cornice that was once topped by a parapet and is covered with tiles. On the left side, there is a five-light coach-house with a plain archway. This block was formerly known as the Talbot Hotel.
