Description

The Former Butter Market is an early 19th-century market building located in Ironbridge Market Square. It is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped plain tile roof with a modillion eaves cornice. The building is two storeys high and has a rectangular plan, measuring one by four bays. The ground floor is arcaded, with shop fronts now inserted, although it was originally an open space. On the first floor, there are three sash windows with glazing bars, each adorned with voussoired lintels.
