Description

Coalport Bridge is a cast-iron road bridge over the River Severn, dated 1818. It was cast at the Coalbrookdale Ironworks and features a single span segmental arch supported by brick abutments from an earlier bridge. The bridge has an openwork cast-iron arch and an ornate cast-iron parapet balustrade. Two semi-circular plaques are located over the center of the parapets, displaying the name of the bridge and the date of its erection.
