Description
The Church of St Bartholomew, built in 1742, is a small Georgian red brick church that underwent significant alterations and extensions in the late 19th century. The nave features 19th-century two-light traceried gothic windows made of stone, with buttresses and stone set-offs in between. At the west end, there is a 19th-century bellcote, and at the east end, a short chancel with three-light lancet windows. The roofs are tiled with gabled ends, stone coping, moulded kneelers, and a stone-covered eaves cornice. Additionally, there is a gabled south porch from the 19th century. Inside, the church is entirely from the late 19th century, featuring a gallery at the west end and an arched brace timber roof.
