Description

The Aynsley China Works, located on Sutherland Street in Longton, is a pottery works built largely in 1861. The building is constructed of brick and features plain tiled roofs. It has a main range that is three storeys high and consists of 15 bays. The central entrance bay is pedimented and includes an archway that leads to the rear of the building, with Palladian style windows positioned above. A cartouche displaying the date is located in the pediment. The windows are adorned with shallow pedimented heads supported by corbels, and there are continuous stuccoed sill bands throughout.
