Description

Nos 1 to 7 Northgate is a 17th century range of timber-framed cottages that have been refaced with brick. Nos 2 to 7 are painted, while No 1 is made of brown brick and projects on the right-hand side. It features a hipped tiled roof, one casement window, and a canted bay window on the ground floor with glazing bars. Nos 2 to 7 include seven casement windows, two of which have gables, and four simple doorways with cambered heads, all under tiled roofs. The gabled end of No 7 displays exposed timber framing. Attached at the rear of No 1 is No 16 Moat Street, a small L-shaped wing of similar character, which has two sash windows and a later brick porch with a simple doorway.
