Description
Beech House is a house dating from the late 18th century, with later additions from the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with wide pilaster strips on either side, a plat band, a toothed brick eaves cornice, and integral brick end stacks. There are three gabled eaves dormers that contain centre-hung small paned casements. The house has five bays, with glazing bar sashes that have painted stone cills and rusticated painted stone lintels. The central door consists of six panels, with the lower panel being flush, the centre panel raised and fielded, and the top panel glazed. This door is framed by a moulded architrave and a three-part rectangular overlight with a segmental head, topped by a triangular-pedimented hood supported by shaped brackets. The gable ends feature pairs of tall segmental-headed recessed panels. There are 18th century and late 19th century wings at the rear of the house. The interior has not been inspected.
