Description
No. 20 Princess Street, also known as No. 7 Milk Street, is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 18th century and is constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof that is hipped on one side. The building stands three storeys high and features a five-window range facing Princess Street and a four-window return elevation on Milk Street.
The shop front, which was added in the late 19th or early 20th century, has channelled stucco and a doorway positioned at the corner. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes with flat-arched gauged brick heads. There is a string course above the first floor and a deep modillion eaves band. The roof includes three pedimented dormers, a coped gable on the left side, and an axial stack. The elevation on Milk Street displays similar architectural details, with a doorway to the right and two dormers in the roof.
