Description
Millhouse is a house that likely dates back to the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It features a roughcast timber frame built on massive natural rock foundations on the west side, which faces the road. The roof is slate, with a gradient that accommodates a 19th-century addition. The house is two storeys high and has one late 19th-century casement window directly below the eaves on the left, along with two ground-floor casement windows, one on either side of a roughly central boarded door. There is a 20th-century casement window to the left as well. To the left, there is a large stepped external end stack with a red brick shaft, which has a single-storey 19th-century addition abutting it. An integral red brick end stack is located on the front part of the roof slope to the right. The interior could not be inspected during the last survey in December 1985, but it is reported to have chamfered ceiling beams and plank doors with strap hinges. The height of the ground-floor windows at the rear suggests that there is a substantial plinth.
