Description
Ferney Lodge is an entrance lodge built between 1856 and 1860 by John Norton for W.H. Sitwell. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The building is designed in the Jacobean style, characterized by Dutch gables and stone mullion windows. The exterior consists of two storeys, with a gable on the right that includes a canted bay and a 2-light window above, adorned with strapwork cresting. To the left, there is a three-arch arcade supported by rusticated columns and arches. Above this arcade, a half-dormer features strapwork cresting and an ogee gable. The interior has not been inspected.
