Description
Nos. 30 and 32 Watergate are houses that have been converted into a shop, likely dating from the 17th century. They feature a rendered timber frame and a plain tile roof, probably consisting of two framed bays and standing two storeys tall. On the first floor, there is a pair of 6-pane glazing bar sash windows to the left and a pair of 20th-century two-light wooden casements to the right. The shop fronts include a late 19th-century design on the left with panelled end pilasters, a deep fascia, and a window that was altered in the 20th century. The right side has a mid-19th-century shop front with a plate-glass window, a boarded door, and a pilastered surround with a fascia and cornice. An exposed left-hand corner post can be seen at the rear. This building is included for its group value.
