Description

This milestone, located approximately 350 metres northwest of Bicton House, was erected between 1826 and 1827 and designed by the engineer Thomas Telford. It is made of tooled limestone and features a shallow-pointed top with chamfered corners. A cast-iron plate is attached, displaying superscribed serif lettering that reads: "HOLY-/HEAD/ 103-M/SALOP /3M - 6F". This milestone is part of a series along the A5 (Holyhead Road), which Telford improved during the 15 years following 1817.
