Description
The terraces, garden walls, and gate piers located immediately to the south of Stanwardine Hall are likely from the mid-18th century, with some later alterations. They are constructed of red brick and feature both plain and moulded stone coping on the walls. The walls enclose an area of approximately 50 by 40 meters, divided into three sections. The western part consists of two terraces connected by a straight flight of steps at the center, while the eastern section serves as a kitchen garden. The wall of the lower terrace includes a barrel-vaulted garden store located in the rear left corner. At the center, there are gate piers that are square in shape, featuring chamfered bands in the middle and pyramidal finials on top. There are moulded stone inscription panels on the gate piers, but the left panel is illegible, and the right panel only has "17--" of the date visible as of the last survey in January 1987.
