Description

The White House is a cottage dating from the mid-to-late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and has painted brick infill, set against a slate roof. The original plan consists of two sections. It is a single storey building with a gable lit attic. The timber framing is arranged in square panels, three from cill to wall-plate, with renewed framing to the left gable end and partial rebuilding in brick to the right of the entrance. A boarded door is located to the right of the centre, next to a 20th-century casement window. An integral brick end stack is situated on the right, with a 20th-century rebuild of the shaft in red brick.
