Description

Ivy House Farmhouse is a mid-to-late 18th-century farmhouse, possibly incorporating earlier fabric, with a mid-19th century extension and later alterations. It is constructed of red brick with a graded slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys with a gable-lit attic, featuring a floor band and a toothed eaves cornice. There are three widely spaced windows; the first floor has 16-pane, and the ground floor has 20-pane glazing bar sashes, each with slightly cambered gauged heads. The entrance is located between the second and third windows from the left, with a flush six-panel door set within a plain pilastered doorcase. A red brick stack is situated between the first and second windows from the left, and an external end stack is present to the right. A contemporary, single-storey kitchen range at a right angle to the rear has mid-19th century additions attached.
