Description
The former coach house, located approximately 80 metres east of Ruyton Manor, dates from around 1860 and is now used as an agricultural store. It is constructed from coursed and dressed red sandstone rubble, with some parts featuring rock-faced stone, and has ashlar coping that steps down on the east and west sides. The lean-to slate roof is concealed by a parapet on the south side.
The south front features a partly projecting rectangular tower at the center, which has a plain corbel table and an embattled parapet. There is a narrow rectangular slit opening on the first floor and a narrow round-headed window directly below it. The sections to the left and right of the tower have thin stepped buttresses leading to the center, with the right buttress containing a narrow rectangular opening. The rear of the building has wide double doors on the left and right, with an open bay in the center. Inside the tower projection, there is a red brick lean-to on the first floor, which likely served as former grooms' accommodation, accessed through a trap door with a ladder beneath.
