Description
The Church of St Michael is a church built in 1829 by John Carline. It is constructed of brick and features a Welsh slate roof that is set back behind a parapet over the nave, while the chancel has a plain tiled roof. The church includes a west tower, a nave without separate aisles, and a chancel that was added later. The tower has a square base and rises above the nave roof line with two stepped octagonal lanterns topped with a shallow leaded cap. There is a doorway in a stone moulded architrave on the south wall of the tower, with a clock positioned above it. A cornice runs across the nave, which consists of five bays with round-arched windows. There is also a door in a moulded architrave located beneath the easternmost window. The later-added chancel features three lancet windows and a steep gabled roof. Inside, the nave and two aisles are formed by a first-floor gallery supported by cast-iron Corinthian and Tuscan columns.
