Description

The Chantry is a cottage likely dating to the 18th century, with a core dating back to the 15th century, and a later wing added at right angles. The building is constructed of local red sandstone, with two storeys. It features an early 19th-century doorcase and casement windows, along with a stringcourse, defaced coved eaves, and later brick stacks. The roof is slate. An internal piscina from the 15th century remains in its original position, suggesting the original building was likely a small chantry chapel of that period.
