Description

Lower Langley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and has painted brick infill panels, along with some brick additions. The roof is covered with plain tiles, some of which are old, and there are brick ridge stacks located at the rear. The main structure consists of a two-bay range with parallel extensions at the rear and a single-storey extension at one end.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic. The east front features square framing that is four panels high, with a pair of straight braces at each end. There is a single three-light casement window on the first floor, and below it, a 19th-century canted three-light bay window with a tiled pentice roof. To the right, there is a two-light casement window. The right return gable has a 20th-century casement window, a cambered tie beam, and a gable-end truss that is brick-infilled, along with a single casement window. The left gable end is also made of brick.

To the right, there is a single-storey gabled extension with a plain boarded doorway and a two-light casement window that has a brick segmental lintel on the right return end. At the rear, the framed range is largely underbuilt in brick and features a three-light casement window on the first floor. There is a plain boarded door with a leaded two-light casement window to the left, both of which have segmental lintels at the ground floor. Additionally, there is a brick single-storey gabled extension to the left with a single two-light casement window that has a brick segmental lintel. The interior has not been inspected.
