Description

The Pound is a village pound located on the south side of High Street in Albrighton. It is likely from the 18th or 19th century. The wall facing High Street is constructed of red sandstone with a ridged capping, while the other walls are made of brick. The rear wall features a recently made entrance.

Internally, the structure is divided into two wood-sheds made of brick, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The Pound is marked on the 1846 Tithe Map and on a plan of the Albrighton Hall Estate from 1891.
