Description
Jordan House is a cottage dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid- to late 19th century. It is constructed of uncoursed red sandstone rubble, which has been painted on the front, and features a plain tile roof that was renewed in the 19th century. The building has a two-unit baffle-entry plan and stands one storey high with an attic. It includes two gabled eaves dormers that have two-light wooden casements, and a central brick ridge stack. The front of the cottage has two windows: a two-light segmental-headed wooden casement on the left and a three-light segmental-headed wooden-framed metal casement on the right. There is also a central segmental-headed boarded door that is sheltered by a gabled porch. The interior has not been inspected. Jordan House is situated in a prominent position in the centre of Picklescott and is included for its group value.
