Description
No. 10 Belmont is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of brick and topped with a plain tiled roof. The building is two stories high with an attic and features a seven-window range. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with an overlight, flanked by 18-pane sash windows that have thick astragals and flat-arched finely gauged brick heads. Three of the ground floor windows to the right of the doorway are blind. There are brick string courses at each floor level, a modillion eaves cornice, and a steeply pitched roof with three gabled dormers. The gables are coped, and there are stacks at the end walls. Notable rainwater heads with foliate decoration are present. Inside, the house features a staircase with two twisted balusters on each step, plaster ceilings, and early 18th-century wall panelling.
