Description
The garden gates and gate piers, located approximately 10 metres to the south-east of Berwick House, date from around 1878 and are likely the work of Stevens of Birmingham. They consist of a pair of square gate piers made from grey sandstone ashlar, featuring moulded cornices and large carved urn finials. The gates themselves are low and delicate, crafted from wrought iron with dog bars, scrolled panels, and cresting at the centre. Stevens also made alterations and additions to Berwick House in 1878. These gates and piers are part of the late 19th-century formal garden that lies to the south-east of the house, which includes brick terrace walls that are not included in this listing.
