Description
The lychgate, located about 20 yards north-east of the Church of St David, was built in 1879. It features a combination of sandstone ashlar and a timber frame, topped with a tiled gambrel roof. The south elevation includes a deep battered sandstone plinth and a segmental arch inscribed with "AD 1879," along with brattished rails set behind deep eaves. It has two-leaved panelled oak gates that feature trefoil-headed open top panels, and a cross is positioned at the center of the ridge. The east and west side elevations have more open trefoiled panels created between high rails and wall-plates. The north arch bears the inscription: "In Memoriam Johannis Tournay Parsons DD Quondam Vicarii." This lychgate is included for its group value.
