Description
This is a pair of gate piers and gates located approximately 75 metres east of Hill Court. They date from the early 18th century, while the gates themselves were added in 1933 in an early 18th century style. The gate piers are made of sandstone ashlar and have a square plan, featuring cornices and elaborately decorated vases. Between the piers is a wrought iron screen with central gates. Above the gates is an elaborate scrollwork overthrow that includes an oval plaque depicting a man, along with the inscriptions: "Now Thus" and "GHT [Guy Trafford]".
