Description
Belle Orchard House, originally known as the Institution, was built in 1836. This two-storey building is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof. The façade is arranged with a window layout of three, four, and three. The central section of the building projects forward and is topped with a pediment that has wide eaves supported by paired brackets. There is a stone band between the floors and a panel in the pediment displaying the date of construction. The windows are small and have glazing bars, with flat brick arches above them. There are two doorways in the central projection, each surrounded by projecting brick with a stone band above, which is supported by brick dentils. The entrance is accessed by wide modern steps.
