Description

Tan House is a building from the 18th century or earlier, constructed of rubble with a red brick front and stucco on the ground floor. The façade features three sash windows with flat arches and keyblocks, and there is a band at the first floor. The doorcase is adorned with a pediment, attached Tuscan columns, and a reeded frieze. It is flanked by three-light sash windows that also have pediments, keyblocks within the pediments, and wide panelled outside shutters with nine raised framed panels. The building has a parapet and a moulded cornice. Tan House is part of a group that includes Orwell and Nunwell Priory.
