Description
The churchyard cross and sundial, located about 10 yards southeast of the junction of the nave and chancel of the Church of St Matthew, consists of steps, a base, and a shaft. It likely dates from the 14th or 15th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and early 20th century. The structure features two octagonal steps leading up to a square restored base and an octagonal shaft that stands approximately 2.5 feet high, which is chamfered to return at the bottom. At the top of the shaft, there is a bronze sundial, which is probably from the 19th century.
