Description

The buildings at 53 and 54 High Street date from the 17th and 18th centuries and form an L-shaped composition. They are constructed of red sandstone and are four storeys high. The upper and second floors each feature three widely-spaced sash windows. A small, splayed bay with a concave hip sits on the first floor, featuring a three-light sash window on the right side. The central doorway is distinguished by Tuscan columns and a reeded frieze. Two further doorways are present, each with a rounded head and a fanlight.
