Description

This pair of headstones, dating from 1719 and 1720, is located 7 meters south of the chancel at the Church of St. Peter. Made of slate and arranged back to back, the headstone on the west features an incised angel and four lines of verse dedicated to Henry Smith, who passed away in 1719. The headstone on the east has a square head with an angel, flanked by an hourglass and crossbones, and includes text along the top edge and head, along with a verse couplet dedicated to Anne Smith, the wife of Henry Smith, who died in 1720.
