Description
The Wellhouse, located on Gotham Leake Road, is a mid-19th century structure originally built as a wellhouse and now serves as a shelter. It is constructed from wood, ashlar, and iron, featuring a pyramidal plain tile roof topped with a single finial. The building has an open hexagonal plan with a low hexagonal wall that is topped with cast iron railings, which includes an entrance. Inside, there is a hexagonal platform supported by six hexagonal posts that have decorative braces, holding up the roof. The interior also contains a single hexagonal ashlar block.
