Description
Jessamine Cottage is a cottage dated 1765, although it appears to be from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof with an end stack on the left. The building has a gable front and a lower wing to the left that is set at a right angle, along with a further range at the rear. It is two storeys high.
The gable front includes a tripartite casement window on the ground floor and a bipartite casement window on the first floor, both of which have segmental heads. At the apex of the gable, there is a stone plaque inscribed with '1765', although the initials are not legible. The verges are dentilled.
The lower wing to the left has a single bay, featuring a tripartite window on the ground floor and a bipartite window on the first floor, both with horizontal sliding sashes, and the ground-floor window has a segmental head. The rear wing consists of two bays with horizontal sashes, also with segmental heads, and has a slate roof with a central stack. The interior has not been inspected.
