Description
The lychgate at the entrance to the churchyard of the Church of St. Helena dates from around 1919. It is constructed of wood, with some ashlar stonework. The lychgate features a hipped slate roof topped with a single ridge cross. It has four corner posts set into low ashlar plinths, which are adorned with curved and decorative brackets that support the roof. Between the side posts are single low panels, and at the front, there is a double wooden gate. The posts are inscribed with the years "1914" and "1919", while a beam under the eaves bears the inscription "Their name liveth for evermore". This structure is included in the listing for its group value only.
