Description

The Old House is a 1680 house, though a beam bearing this date has been removed. It is constructed of coursed blue lias rubble with brick eaves, and has a steeply pitched pantile roof. Some original timber framing remains. The property features an off-centre 20th-century gabled porch containing a 20th-century close-boarded door in a Tudor style. Flanking the porch are single 19th-century three-light casements with segmental heads. To the right of the porch is a 19th-century close-boarded door and another three-light casement, also with a segmental head. Above, there are three 19th-century two-light Yorkshire sash windows, and a single 19th-century three-light casement. The south gable incorporates a 19th-century two-light casement on the first floor, and a single 19th-century fixed light to the garret, both also set within segmental heads. There is an off-centre brick ridge stack and a single external stack on the south gable.
