Description

This is an early 18th-century threshing barn with an attached stable, located at Manor Farm in Hockerton. The barn and stable are constructed of red brick with pantile roofs, featuring brick coped gables with kneelers and dentil eaves. The barn is two storeys and three bays wide. The central bay has a large doorway with a plank door set within a segmental arch, flanked by single buttresses. Slit ventilators are positioned on each floor to the left and right of the doorway. An insurance plaque is located above the doorway. Attached to the right side of the barn and set slightly back is an early 19th-century stable, also of red brick with a pantile roof and dentil eaves. The stable is single-storey and three bays wide, with a doorway containing a stable door under a segmental arch, flanked by single casement windows.
