Description
Forest Stone is a commemorative stone erected in 1752 by Henrietta Cavendish Holles Harley. It is made of ashlar with some rubble and stands over 2 meters high, set into a rubble platform. The corners of the stone are chamfered in the central sections, featuring remains of ogee stops. The west side has a 20th-century plaque. This stone marks the site of the great forest court and swain-moot.
