Description
Number 117 and the adjoining workshop is a pair of cottages and a knitters' workshop, now functioning as a house. It dates from the late 18th century and early 19th century. The structure is built of brick and features a pantile roof with cogged eaves. It has single ridge and gable stacks and stands two storeys high with seven bays in a single range.
The windows include 19th and 20th century casements and Yorkshire sashes. The ground floor openings primarily have segmental heads. On the front, to the left, there is a door flanked by single casements. To the right, there is another door with two casements beside it. Further right, there are two casements flanked by larger openings containing 20th century plank panels. Above, to the left, there is a small casement flanked by single Yorkshire sashes. To the right, there is a 20th century casement and a Yorkshire sash. Further right again, there are two large knitters' windows, with the one on the right featuring 20th century glazing. The gable facing the street has a single casement.
