Description
No. 31 Moorgreen is a farmhouse, now a house, built in the early 19th century and extended around 1875 in the style of E. W. Godwin. The building is constructed of brick and features a plain tile roof with a battered plinth. It has two gable stacks, one of which is external. The structure is single storey plus attics and consists of two bays in an L-plan layout.
The windows are primarily glazing bar sashes with segmental heads. The street-facing side has a 20th-century single storey addition on the left, which includes a casement window facing south. To the right of this addition are two sashes, followed by another sash located at a higher level. Further to the right is an additional sash window. Above this section, there is a tile-hung gabled dormer.
On the north side, there are two sashes on the left, and to the right, there is a 20th-century glazed porch followed by another sash window. Beyond this, there is a 19th-century lean-to addition with a door, and above it, there is a casement window and another sash. The south side features a 20th-century casement window and door, with a sash window located above.
This farmhouse is part of a group of farmhouses and cottages that were altered by E. W. Godwin for Earl Cowper between 1872 and 1878.
