Description
The pigeoncote at Brookside Farm, now used as a store, dates from the mid-18th century and is built of red brick. It features a pantile roof with crow-stepped gables and a dentil eaves band, along with a raised brick eaves band that extends around the gable walls. The structure has two storeys plus a garret.
On the west wall, there is a doorway with a wooden door set beneath a segmental arch. Above this, breaking the band, is an arched panel with entrances for pigeons, and above that is a single owl opening. The east wall mirrors this with a similar doorway and a single owl opening. The south wall contains a single window opening and a blocked arched opening on the first floor. The north wall features a doorway under a segmental arch, with a small window opening to the right and a similar doorway above. Inside, there are nesting boxes and perches.
