Description
Great Limber School and House is a primary school and house built in 1849, with an extension added in 1895. The building is constructed of yellow brick, featuring ashlar and terracotta dressings, and has a slate roof with overhanging verges that include decorated barge boards and projecting eaves supported by carved brackets. The structure has a T-plan layout, with the house forming a cross wing at the end of the school hall's long axis.
The facade has seven bays and a plinth, with the house on the left side being two storeys tall, while the school hall is only one storey. An off-centre, four-centred arched door is located in a porch that links the house and hall, topped with a raised coped gable. To the left of the door, there is a single canted bay window with an ashlar surround and a slate roof featuring lead dressings. On the right side, there are five bays of ashlar cross mullioned top hung casements in plain surrounds. The first floor of the house has a single cross mullioned window. Additionally, there is a porch on the right side of the school hall and a metal ventilator on the ridge.
