Description
Post Box Cottage is a late 17th century building that has been converted into a shop and house, with 20th century alterations and an addition. Originally likely constructed using mud and stud, it is now entirely underbuilt in random stretcher bond red brick. The cottage features a deeply overhanging hipped thatch roof with decorative ridge and two brick ridge stacks. It is a single storey building with attics, presenting a four-bay facade. The off-centre 20th century glazed door is flanked by two 20th century glazing bar bow windows on the left and a similar window on the right. At the eaves level of the roof, there are two two-light casement dormers. The addition at the rear dates from the 20th century.
