Description

These are early 19th-century brick almshouses, likely rebuilt around 1838, featuring a slate roof. The lower sections of the masonry above ground are made of rough stone in some areas, which may be remnants of an earlier building mentioned on a plaque that reads: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, to-day and forever. THESE ALMS HOUSES WERE, FOUNDED BY SIR GEORGE ST POLE KT & BART. AD 1612." The structure has stone quoins and each dwelling includes a single three-light window with chamfered mullions, as well as paired doors. The steeply pitched roof is adorned with four dormers that have barge board gables, and there are three red brick chimney stacks.
