Description

No. 18, the Registry Office, is a fine mid-18th century red brick house. It is two storeys high and has three bays, featuring a double-fronted design. The building has rusticated stucco voussoirs, although these have been somewhat spoiled by 19th-century glazing. The roof is made of slate. The central door consists of six octagonal fielded panels and is topped by a glazed semi-circular fanlight. The wooden doorcase is adorned with engaged Doric columns and an open pediment.
