Description

The tomb and railings at the Church of St. Peter, located 10 yards from the east angle of the church, were likely constructed in 1860 by T. C. Hine of Nottingham. The tomb is made of red sandstone and features cast iron railings. It is designed in the form of a cross, with the lowest course having a coped top. Above this is another coped element supported by round columns that have decorated capitals in a 13th-century style. The tomb is inscribed to Ann Ealand, who died in 1858, and was sculpted by W. Ray of Lincoln. The contemporary cast iron railings include decorative finials and twisted angle and top rails. This structure is listed for its group value only.
