Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory around 1840. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof with stone-coped gables and kneelers. The building is two stories tall and has a four-bay front. On the left side, there is a projecting bay that contains a large three-light window with three glazing bar sashes. To the left of this bay is a single glazing bar sash, while to the right are two similar windows, with four glazing bar sashes above them. All the windows are framed with broad ashlar architraves. Above the central window, there is a round plaque featuring two shields, topped with an ashlar-coped gable that has kneelers and a tall finial.
On the east side, there is a large projecting doorway that has a partially glazed door with a large triangular-headed overlight and a coped pediment. The doorway is flanked by low angle buttresses. To the left of the doorway, there is a projecting stack, and to the right, there is a glazing bar sash with an ashlar architrave, along with two similar windows above it.
